Ria Lu is a creator. Primarily, she writes stories and makes games. Her first card game, the Talecraft Story-Creation Game, was released in 2007 under her company, Komikasi Games and Entertainment. She released a second game called Flirt in 2013 under the same company. On the writing side, Ria has written travel articles for magazines, always for fun. Her first published short fiction is a fantasy piece called The Mermaid's Voice and was published under the Philippine Genre Stories magazine in 2015.

When she's not creating, Ria works as the Executive Director of the Game Developers’ Association of the Philippines, and as the Studio Director of the Manila branch of a software firm called First Foundry. She is active in the development efforts of the Philippine Game Industry, and is involved particularly in its talent development efforts.

Ria also does a lot of teaching and talking. She was part of the team who developed the National Certificate vocational course on 2D Game Art in the Philippines. She's given numerous talks and workshops on entrepreneurship, gamification, game design, and many other aspects of content creation. You can see a list of her past speaking engagements here.

Ria is a student of Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) under the Mishoryu Nakayama Bunpo-Kai school of Ikebana. You can see some of her works in her Instagram account. She is also into Taiko (Japanese drums).
